Ex-Principal of RG Kar Medical College Sent to Judicial Custody

Former RG Kar Medical College principal Sandip Ghosh, along with his security personnel and two associates, was sent to judicial custody until September 23 by a special CBI court for alleged financial irregularities. Ghosh was initially arrested on September 2 amid protests over a separate incident.

Former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, has been sent to judicial custody until September 23 by a special CBI court, following charges of financial irregularities.

Alongside Ghosh, his security personnel Afsar Ali and two associated vendors, Biplab Sinha and Suman Hazra, were also remanded to judicial custody.

The CBI stated in court that they might seek custody of the accused again if necessary.

Ghosh was arrested on September 2 amidst protests surrounding the rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, and was initially sent to eight days of CBI custody on September 3.
