Trinamool Congress leader Saugata Roy on Tuesday demanded that SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, who faces allegations of conflict of interest, be summoned before the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, sources indicated.
During a meeting focused on the performance audit of the Jal Jeevan Mission, Roy emphasized that Buch should testify before the committee.
However, BJP leader Nishikant Dubey opposed the call, arguing that it contravened existing rules. According to sources, Dubey stated that the PAC has predefined rules and cannot summon regulatory officials without concrete evidence of financial misconduct provided by the government.
