In a series of unfortunate incidents, 12 individuals drowned in separate accidents across the districts of Mandsaur, Vidisha, Sehore, Khandwa, and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, as confirmed by officials on Monday.

Five people lost their lives in the Betwa River in Vidisha district, while a doctor tragically drowned during a picnic at Digambar waterfall in Sehore, according to officials.

In Khandwa and Mandsaur districts, several individuals, including teenage girls and a mother-daughter duo, met with fatal accidents in local rivers. Notably, two boys drowned in Jabalpur district on Sunday, an official added. Most incidents took place on Sunday, with bodies being recovered by Monday morning.
