NIA Charge Sheets Four in High-Profile Bengaluru Cafe Blast Case

The accused, who were funded through cryptocurrencies, had also planned multiple attacks. The investigation revealed ties to ISIS and led to significant arrests and the discovery of their radicalizing activities.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a charge sheet against four individuals connected to the notorious Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe blast case.
Identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha, Maaz Muneer Ahmed, and Muzammil Shareef, the accused had previously been arrested and are in judicial custody. The NIA stated their handlers funded Taaha and Shazib using cryptocurrencies to carry out violent acts in Bengaluru.
The investigation unearthed plans for a failed IED attack at the State BJP Office and other violent schemes. The charge sheet, presented in a special NIA court, detailed an explosion on March 1 at Rameshwaram Cafe that injured nine and caused extensive damage. Extensive investigations across multiple states led to the capture of the accused, revealing their ISIS connections and involvement in radicalizing youth.
