India-US Joint War Exercise Underway in Rajasthan's Mahajan Field

The 20th edition of the Indo-US joint military war exercise kicked off on Monday at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan, according to an official statement.
The exercise, which will run until September 22, is aimed at enhancing the joint military capability of both nations to conduct counter-terrorism operations. Defence spokesperson Amitabh Sharma indicated that this year's drills involve advanced military power and complex equipment.
A battalion of the Rajput Regiment representing 600 Indian soldiers and an equal number of American troops are participating. The war exercise will focus on joint responses to terrorist actions in a 'semi-desert' environment, including tactical exercises such as joint planning and field training missions. Sharma further noted that the exercise will facilitate the sharing of best practices in tactics and procedures for joint operations.
