Rural Kentucky Community on Edge as Manhunt for Gunman Enters Third Day

A rural community in southeastern Kentucky remains tense as a relentless manhunt for Joseph A. Couch enters its third day. Couch is suspected of shooting at 12 vehicles and injuring five people on Interstate 75 near London.

Authorities have vowed not to give up their search despite the hilly and rugged terrain complicating their efforts. The search was temporarily halted after nightfall on Sunday but was set to continue on Monday morning. Sheriff John Root assured residents that authorities are doing everything possible to apprehend the suspect.

With the gunman still at large, local school districts canceled classes, and authorities urged residents to lock their doors and stay vigilant. The community remains on edge as law enforcement officers, aided by drones and helicopters, continue their exhaustive search.
