At least eight Afghan Taliban soldiers, including two key commanders, have been killed in a fierce clash with Pakistani security forces near the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The exchange took place in Khurram border district over the weekend, injuring 16 Afghan Taliban soldiers. The Afghan side attacked a Pakistani checkpost with heavy weapons in the Palosin area on Saturday morning, according to sources cited in the Dawn newspaper.
No official comment has been made by the Pakistan military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Trade between the countries remained suspended, and a paramilitary officer was also killed in another militant attack in central Kurram on Sunday.
