Ukraine's foreign ministry expressed deep apprehension on Saturday in response to reports suggesting the potential transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia.
In an official statement, the ministry emphasized that enhanced military collaboration between Tehran and Moscow threatens Ukraine, Europe, and the Middle East. Authorities urged the international community to escalate pressure on Iran and Russia. CNN and the Wall Street Journal, citing unidentified sources, reported on Friday that Iran had already transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
Earlier revelations by Reuters in August indicated Russia's anticipation of receiving hundreds of Fath-360 close-range ballistic missiles from Iran, with Russian military personnel undergoing training in Iran for their eventual deployment in the Ukraine conflict. On Friday, the United States also raised alarms about this potential transfer, terming it a significant escalation in Iran's support for Russia's aggression against Ukraine, according to White House National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett.
