The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) has launched its inaugural Advanced Leadership Development Programme on Public Policy and Governance, tailored for Latin American and Caribbean nations. Running from September 2 to September 13, 2024, the two-week program is hosting 22 civil servants from 10 countries, including Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Suriname.

Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and Director General of NCGG, engaged with the officials, discussing commonalities in governance models between Latin American countries and India. The session highlighted India's comprehensive development model, which includes the "Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal" – aiming for a developed India, eradicating colonial legacies, fostering national pride, and promoting unity and duty among citizens.

The program will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including the Aadhaar Card system, Skill India policies, vigilance administration, leadership in governance, fiscal and monetary policy, diaspora and migration issues, and approaches to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Other areas of focus include digital economy and innovation, urban governance, food security, holistic healthcare, disaster management, and e-governance.

Participants will also undertake study tours and exposure visits to institutions such as the Forest Research Institute, District Administration Gautam Buddha Nagar, the International Solar Alliance, and the Taj Mahal.

The program is overseen by Dr. Himanshi Rastogi, Course Coordinator, along with Dr. Mukesh Bhandari, Associate Course Coordinator, and Shri Sanjay Dutt Pant, Program Assistant. They are supported by Dr. Zaid Fakhar, Consultant NCGG, and Ms. Megha Tomar, Young Professional, NCGG, with additional contributions from Smt. Prisca Poly Mathew, Chief Administrative Officer & Consultant, NCGG, Dr. A. P. Singh, Associate Professor, NCGG, and Shri S. K. Pandey, Director, DARPG.
