Security personnel have successfully recovered six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by Naxalites in the dense forests of Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district, authorities revealed on Friday.

A district police team on routine patrol discovered the IEDs in Madgaon forest near Dhanora police station limits on Thursday. The devices, concealed in pressure cookers and buried underground, included three IEDs weighing 4 kg each and another set of three weighing 3 kg each, according to Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Anil Vishwakarma.

Vishwakarma confirmed that the police bomb disposal squad safely neutralized the explosives, preventing a potential catastrophe. Naxalites frequently use such tactics to target security personnel during anti-Naxal operations across the Bastar division, which includes Kondagaon among its seven districts.
