Suspected militants launched a fresh bomb attack in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Friday morning, causing damage to at least two structures, police reported.

Rockets were fired from elevated positions in the hill areas of Churachandpur district targeting the low-lying residential locality of Tronglaobi, around 45km from state capital Imphal. Authorities estimated the range of the rockets to be over 3km.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the attack. However, a local community hall and an unoccupied room sustained damage due to the bombing, as confirmed by the police.

Additionally, the suspected militants fired several rounds towards Bishnupur district, leading security forces to retaliate.

Heightened tension was also reported on Thursday night in Kumbi village, located a few kilometers from Tronglaobi, where multiple drones were spotted hovering less than 100 meters above the ground, according to eyewitnesses.
