West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose criticized the Mamata Banerjee administration for failing to submit the necessary technical report with the recently passed anti-rape Bill, an official disclosed.
Bose expressed disappointment, noting that it has become a regular practice for the state not to send technical reports with Bills, and then blame the governor's office for delays in clearing them, the official detailed.
The governor pointed out that the Aparajita Bill appears to closely resemble similar Bills passed in other states and criticized Banerjee for attempting to mislead the public regarding the delay, which he attributed to the state's omission.
