An abandoned car on the Geeta Colony flyover in east Delhi has sparked concerns after police suspected the driver may have jumped into the Yamuna river, officials said on Thursday.

A call concerning the abandoned vehicle was received at 11.15 pm on Wednesday at the Kotwali police station, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Manoj Meena. The car was identified as belonging to 46-year-old Pawan Shah, a manager at Indraprastha Power Generation Co. Ltd., who has since been reported missing. A shattered window, likely broken with a brick, was discovered on the vehicle. Meena stated that Shah left his office around 3 pm on Wednesday without notifying anyone.

Efforts to reach Shah by his family and colleagues went unanswered after 7.20 pm, with his last known location traced to the flyover. Witnesses claimed they saw someone jump into the river, prompting the deployment of divers for a search operation. The investigation is ongoing, and legal steps will follow, authorities confirmed.
