Rs 2 Crore Mephedrone Seized in Maharashtra
Police in Maharashtra's Palghar district seized synthetic drug mephedrone worth over Rs 2 crore from a bag abandoned by a foreigner, likely a Nigerian national. The man fled during a police patrol. In a significant drug bust, Maharashtra's Palghar district police recovered mephedrone worth over Rs 2 crore from a bag suspected to belong to a Nigerian national who escaped upon sighting authorities.
The police patrol, while on duty in Nallasopara area, observed a suspicious individual carrying a bag. Before they could inspect it, the man fled, abandoning the bag that ultimately contained 1.102 kilograms of the banned synthetic stimulant.
Additionally, the search revealed three mobile phones, a weighing scale, and an expired visa under the name Anibunwa Elvis from Nigeria. An FIR has been lodged under the NDPS Act with efforts ongoing to locate the suspect.
