A Delhi court on Wednesday deferred its order on the bail plea of Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid to September 11. Rashid has been detained since 2019 in connection with a 2017 terror-funding case.
Rashid, who defeated former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the recent Lok Sabha polls, has been in Delhi's Tihar Jail since his arrest under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The court heard Rashid's bail arguments in-camera on August 28.
The case involves allegations of terror funding and includes high-profile figures like Yasin Malik and Hafiz Saeed. The NIA has been investigating the matter and has filed charges against several accused.
