Aparna Yadav Appointed as Vice-Chairperson of UP Women's Commission
The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed new office-bearers for the state women's commission. Aparna Yadav, sister-in-law of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, has been named vice-chairperson along with Charu Chaudhary. Babita Chauhan has been nominated as the chairperson. The appointment is valid for one year or until further notice.

The government of Uttar Pradesh has officially announced new appointments for the state's women's commission, with notable names included in the list.
Governor Anandiben Patel has appointed Babita Chauhan as the chairperson of the UP Rajya Mahila Aayog, and the panel features Aparna Yadav and Charu Chaudhary as vice-chairpersons. This decision was formalized through an official notification issued by Principal Secretary Leena Johri.
Aparna Yadav, the younger daughter-in-law of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and sister-in-law to Akhilesh Yadav, had joined the BJP in January 2022 after contesting the 2017 UP assembly polls unsuccessfully on an SP ticket from Lucknow Cantt seat.
