An official confirmed that Odisha Police have apprehended a 26-year-old man accused of raping a minor girl in Kandhamal district.

The accused, identified as a distant relative and an autorickshaw driver, allegedly assaulted the class eight student on Sunday while she was returning home from a market in Daringbadi.

After stopping in a secluded area, the suspect reportedly dragged the girl to nearby bushes, where the crime took place. Following the incident, the victim's father filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of the accused on Monday.
