The Gurugram Police uncovered a fabricated robbery story created by an auto rickshaw driver, intended to dodge his financial obligations. The individual in question, Shiv Pratap, claimed that three miscreants had robbed him of his CNG auto rickshaw and a mobile phone.
Further investigation revealed inconsistencies in his statement. Upon thorough questioning, Pratap admitted to concocting the tale to avoid paying a loan installment. He had taken the vehicle to Fatehpur Beri in Delhi and turned off his mobile phone to support his false claim.
The police recovered the auto rickshaw and the mobile phone from Pratap's possession. Legal action has been initiated against him under Section 217 of the BNS, according to a Gurugram Police spokesperson.
