Outrage continues to simmer in Odisha following the recent alleged rape-murder of a minor tribal girl. On Sunday, police found the body of a 24-year-old woman in Sambalpur district's Naktideula area.
According to a police complaint, the woman had been missing since Friday after she went to bathe at a spring near her village. Local villagers discovered her sandals, mobile phone, and clothes in a nearby paddy field.
The incident has sparked significant local outrage. Residents staged a protest and blocked the highway connecting Naktideula to Angul Road. Family members alleged that the woman had been raped and murdered, blaming the police for not locating her sooner. Authorities have since detained and are questioning a local youth.
