The Centre has appointed senior IAS officer Dharmendra as the new chief secretary of the Delhi government.
Dharmendra, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, previously held the position of chief secretary in Arunachal Pradesh before being transferred to Delhi.
His appointment comes ahead of the assembly polls scheduled for February, succeeding Naresh Kumar, whose extended tenure concluded on August 31.
