Techie Arrested for Alleged Sexual Harassment at Gurugram Hotel

A 32-year-old tech professional was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a female employee from a US-based company at a hotel in Gurugram. The accused, who was intoxicated, allegedly barged into the woman's room. An FIR was registered, and he was released on bail after joining the investigation.

A 32-year-old techie was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a woman employed by a US-based company in a Gurugram hotel, police said on Friday.

The accused allegedly barged into the woman's hotel room in an inebriated state. An FIR was registered against him at Sector 29 police station, they said.

A senior officer confirmed that the accused worked on a joint venture project on behalf of his company. He was released on bail after participating in the investigation.

The woman, a 27-year-old Noida resident, was at the hotel for a business meeting on Wednesday. Most attendees stayed at the hotel overnight, the officer added.

According to her complaint, the accused, a client for her company, entered her room intoxicated around 3:30 am on Thursday.

Hotel security escorted the man away, and the police were notified.

The police filed an FIR under Section 75 (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Sector 29 police station on Thursday and arrested the accused.

''The accused was released on bail after joining the investigation. Further probe is underway,'' said Sector 29 SHO Ravi Kumar.
