In a significant crackdown on Naxalite activities, authorities have arrested two Naxalites and facilitated the surrender of five others in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, officials reported on Friday. Additionally, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from Bijapur.

A key female ultra, Dudhi Bhime, along with her associates Vetti Raja, Vanjam Ganga, Dudhi Pojja, and Kawasi Bhima, surrendered to the police in Sukma. They were involved in numerous violent activities, including assaults on police teams.

In another operation, the District Reserve Guard, 208th COBRA battalion, and local police apprehended Veko Hidma and Madkam Nanda near Potkalli village. Both are implicated in a November 2023 IED blast that injured two villagers in Dabbamarka. Concurrently, the CRPF's de-mining unit recovered and neutralized three IEDs planted by Maoists in Bijapur forests.
