On Friday, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and representatives from the Maldives, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka signed a Charter and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Colombo Security Conclave Secretariat.
The joint initiative focuses on regional security by addressing transnational threats and challenges. The Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) brings together National Security Advisors (NSA) and Deputy NSAs from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Mauritius, concentrating on maritime security, counter-terrorism, and cyber security.
During the signing ceremony held in Colombo, Doval emphasized the significance of the Founding Documents in strengthening CSC's pivotal role in ensuring regional security. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts to address various challenges in the Indian Ocean Region. The ceremony concluded with a discussion on future activities of the Conclave.
