A man has been booked for trespassing after allegedly attempting to enter the Parliament complex using a fake entry pass, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, the laborer, employed at a civil construction site within the complex, was found to possess the fake pass during a gate check on Wednesday morning.
The man was subsequently handed over to the Delhi Police by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials and taken to the Parliament Street police station. During questioning, he revealed that his pass had expired. Authorities are continuing the investigation to trace the origin of the fake pass.
In a related incident on August 16, another man scaled the wall of the Parliament Annexe. CISF personnel apprehended him and turned him over to the police. The individual was deemed mentally 'unsound' as he was unable to properly identify himself, officials said.
