Rajwinder Singh Bhatti and Daljit Singh Chaudhary have been appointed as the Director Generals of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF), respectively, as of Wednesday.

The CISF safeguards critical infrastructure in India, including airports and nuclear installations, while the BSF is responsible for protecting Indian borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Bhatti, a 1990-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has served as the chief of Bihar Police since December 2022. He will hold the position as DG, CISF until his superannuation on September 30, 2025. This post was previously vacant due to the retirement of Nina Singh last month.

Daljit Singh Chaudhary, Bhatti's batchmate and former head of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), will lead the BSF up to November 30, 2025, taking over after the curtailed tenure of Nitin Agrawal. Chaudhary has extensive experience, including positions in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and his cadre state, Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, Bihar-cadre IPS officer B Srinivasan has been appointed as the Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG). Srinivasan is currently the director of Bihar Police Academy in Rajgir.
