The Tamil Nadu government, on Wednesday, informed the Madras High Court that a show cause notice has been issued to a school in Krishnagiri district after allegations surfaced that 12 girls were sexually abused during a fake NCC camp organized by anti-social elements.

Advocate General P S Raman made this known during a hearing of a Public Interest Litigation filed by advocate A P Suryaprakasam before the bench comprising Acting Chief Justice D Krishnakumar and Justice P B Balaji. He stated that the school management has until Thursday to respond, failing which the Director of School Education may be appointed as a special officer to take control of the school.

The bench has requested the investigation report, the post-mortem reports of the prime accused and his father, who both died, one allegedly by suicide post-incident. The Tamil Nadu Legal Services Authority has been entrusted to inspect the school and interact with students and parents, with the next hearing set for September 4.
