Police have detained a 15-year-old boy from Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district, following allegations of stalking multiple girls, an official confirmed on Tuesday.

The complaint was lodged by one of the victims, who described the incident occurring around 8 pm on Monday. She reported being followed and subjected to objectionable gestures. The accused reportedly also pursued three of her friends.

Following the complaint, the juvenile was detained and sent to a remand home, as per an official from the Bhiwandi police station. The police have registered an FIR against the boy under section 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
