Saratov regional airport in Russia lifted flight restrictions on Monday following a drone attack by Ukraine that caused injuries and property damage, according to officials and news agencies.
The curbs were removed around 9:30 a.m. (0530 GMT), as reported by Russia's RIA news agency, after earlier announcements of the clampdown. Falling debris from intercepted drones damaged a residential complex in the city, stated regional governor Roman Basurgin on Telegram.
A woman remains hospitalized in critical condition as doctors strive to save her life, Basurgin added. Russia's defense ministry confirmed nine drones were destroyed over the Saratov region, located roughly 900 kilometers from Ukraine's border. Emergency services were dispatched to affected sites, with notable damage in Saratov and Engels, key regional cities.
