Zelenskiy Unveils Game-Changing 'Palianytsia' Drone Missile Amid Russia Conflict
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy introduced the new Ukrainian 'Palianytsia' drone missile, claiming it would advance the war back into Russia. Celebrating Ukraine's post-Soviet independence, Zelenskiy described the weapon as faster and more powerful than earlier models. He also criticized President Putin and mentioned a successful test strike in Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy showcased a newly developed Ukrainian 'drone missile' on Saturday, stating it would take the war back to Russia and mockingly referred to Vladimir Putin as a 'sick old man from Red Square.' As Ukraine celebrated 33 years of post-Soviet independence, Zelenskiy said the new weapon, Palianytsia, would be more efficient than previous drones.
'Our enemy will ... know what the Ukrainian way for retaliation is. Worthy, symmetrical, long-ranged,' Zelenskiy stated. The president confirmed that the new drone weapon had been successful in a strike but did not disclose the location.
He used scornful language to describe Putin and the nuclear threats from Moscow, saying, 'A sick old man from Red Square who constantly threatens everyone with the red button will not dictate any of his red lines to us.' The Palianytsia's significance stems not only from its tactical use but also from its symbolic meaning, as its name represents a type of Ukrainian bread that is difficult for Russians to pronounce.
