The Odisha Assembly has adopted a censure motion against two BJD MLAs, accused of disrespecting Speaker Surama Padhy during a protest over the Ganjam liquor deaths.

The motion, moved by Government Chief Whip Saroj Pradhan, claims MLAs Romancha Ranjan Biswal and Madhab Dhada attempted to climb onto the Speaker's podium.

Opposition parties have dismissed the allegations, accusing the BJP of deflecting from the serious issue of spurious liquor deaths and highlighting past instances of disrespect towards the Speaker.
