The Federation of Secretarial Employees Union convened its second general house meeting within three days on Friday, threatening intensified agitation after the Vidhan Sabha's monsoon session if demands for the release of arrears for revised pay scales and dearness allowance (DA) are not addressed.

Union chairperson Sanjeev Sharma criticized the government, claiming it has sufficient funds for furnishing ministerial offices and new office constructions but none for employees' dues. He highlighted expenditures, including Rs 50 lakh on two ministers' offices and an administrative approval of Rs 19 crore for the chief minister's office construction.

Sharma also questioned the allocation of hefty telephone and hospitality allowances to ministers. He announced that employees would wear black badges in protest. Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, advised employees to pursue their grievances through dialogue rather than make allegations.
