The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, and the Public Service Department, Prime Minister’s Department, Government of Malaysia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 'Co-operation in the field of Public Administration and Governance Reforms.' The agreement, which spans five years starting from August 20, 2024, was exchanged in a ceremonial function at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim.

This MoU aims to foster collaboration between India and Malaysia in several key areas, including:

Citizen-Centric Services: Enhancing the delivery of public services through digital platforms.

Government Process Simplification: Streamlining and re-engineering government processes for more effective service delivery.

Transparency and Accountability: Promoting greater transparency and accountability in public service delivery.

Human Resource Management and Leadership Development: Improving the management of public sector human resources and leadership.

Public Sector Management and Reforms: Advancing reforms in public sector management.

Public Grievance Redress Mechanisms: Strengthening systems for addressing public grievances.

E-Governance and Digital Government: Advancing e-governance and digital government initiatives.

To ensure the effective implementation of this cooperation, a Joint Working Group will be established under the MoU. This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing governance and public administration in both nations.
