On Friday, lakhs of candidates appeared for the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam, held at 1,174 centres across 67 districts. This marks the first day of the rescheduled exam, originally conducted in February and cancelled due to paper leak allegations.

Tight security measures were implemented, including CCTV monitoring, to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams over five days. Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar confirmed that the exams are proceeding smoothly and as expected.

The exams will be held in two shifts each day, with around 9.5 lakh candidates expected to appear daily. Many candidates expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and appreciate the second opportunity to secure a position in UP Police.
