A Russian guided bomb strike in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region, which borders Russia's Kursk region, claimed two lives, as reported by local prosecutors on Thursday. The bombs targeted civilian infrastructure, according to a statement from regional prosecutors on Telegram.

In addition to the fatalities, the attack also left one person injured. Russia has been intensifying its assaults on Ukrainian border areas, prompting Kyiv to conduct a surprise operation in the Kursk region aimed at disrupting Moscow's capability to launch such attacks.
