Trio Nabbed in Telangana for Illegal Mobile Acquisition Used in Cyber Crimes
Three individuals from Bihar were apprehended in Godavarikhani, Telangana for acquiring old mobile phones for cyber crimes. Police seized approximately 4,000 phones and three bikes. Three individuals from Bihar were arrested in Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district of Telangana, on Wednesday for allegedly acquiring old mobile phones for cyber crimes. Police have seized approximately 4,000 mobile phones from them.
Acting on credible information, Cyber Security Bureau personnel apprehended the suspects during their attempt to purchase phones in Godavarikhani. According to a release from Telangana Police, three gunny bags containing old mobile phones and three bikes were confiscated.
Upon further interrogation, police discovered that the suspects had been buying phones at low prices for the past month in Ramagundam and neighboring districts, intending to transport them to Bihar. The phones were to be sold to cyber fraudsters in Jharkhand, who use them for scams and share the ill-gotten money with their associates. A case has been registered based on their confessions, the release noted.
