Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Nitin Deshmukh on Monday described the Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau's investigation against him as a 'witch-hunt.' The ACB's Amravati unit had requested details on the educational expenses of Deshmukh's children from their school in a letter sent in July.
The letter, which was seeking information about the education costs for his daughter and son, who are in Class VII and X respectively, has recently gone viral on social media. The inquiry forms part of the ACB's ongoing two-year investigation against Deshmukh.
'It is a witch-hunt and it is being done since I did not join the Eknath Shinde group after the Shiv Sena split. The inquiry should be done in a transparent manner and not in a closed room like this,' Deshmukh told reporters.
