Trinamool Congress MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy has escalated his battle with local authorities by moving the Calcutta High Court on Monday. He is challenging a notice issued by the Kolkata Police concerning a social media post.
The veteran politician's post demanded a 'custodial interrogation' by the CBI of both the Kolkata Police commissioner and the previous principal of RG Kar Medical College, following the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor.
Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj granted permission for Roy's lawyer to file the petition, with a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
