Police in Mumbai have arrested two individuals for allegedly attacking a 34-year-old priest in a road rage incident in Kandivali, a western suburb of the city, officials said on Monday.
The search is still on for two more suspects linked to the Saturday night altercation, according to an official report.
One of the arrested individuals, Pratham Digamber Khillare, 22, was riding a motorcycle and collided with the priest's two-wheeler in Laljipada locality. An ensuing argument escalated when Khillare called friends to join him in assaulting the priest and his brother-in-law. Khillare allegedly stabbed the priest during the altercation, officials noted.
Mumbai police have detained Khillare and an accomplice, Chotu Maniyar. While the victim initially hesitated to file a complaint, a video of the incident that emerged on social media prompted the police to register a case, the official added.
