NIA Cracks Down on Maoist Activities in Bihar, Arrests Key Leader

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took significant strides in its efforts to counter Maoist activities by arresting a key leader in Bihar on Wednesday. The arrest follows thorough searches conducted at nine locations across Begusarai and Gaya districts.
The searches led to the seizure of several mobile phones, SIM cards, and incriminating documents. The operation targeted the homes of associates, over-ground workers, suspects, and sympathisers of the banned CPI (Maoist) organization.
The apprehended individual, identified as Bihari Paswan alias Rakesh alias Rishikesh, is a Zonal Committee Member of the CPI (Maoist). He has multiple cases registered against him in various districts of Bihar. The arrest correlates with a probe initiated from earlier operations against top CPI (Maoist) leaders.
