India and Kuwait Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Key Meeting Highlights

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Kuwaiti Prime Minister and Crown Prince to discuss enhancing India-Kuwait bilateral relations. Jaishankar conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Modi and reviewed political, trade, investment, and cultural ties. The visit follows a tragic fire incident in Kuwait that resulted in the deaths of 45 Indians.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday met Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah to discuss ways to elevate the bilateral ties between India and Kuwait.

During his day-long visit, Jaishankar conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's greetings and appreciated the discussions on various dimensions of the bilateral relationship. He emphasized the importance of further economic cooperation. Jaishankar also honored the Crown Prince with the greetings of the President and Prime Minister, highlighting the historical goodwill between the nations and the steady growth of contemporary partnerships.

The visit, marked by a detailed review of political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, consular, and people-to-people relations, also included a reflection on regional and international matters of mutual interest. This visit comes nearly two months after a catastrophic fire in Kuwait claimed the lives of 45 Indians, among other foreign workers.
