The Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has officially authorized the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scheme.
The sanction, granted under Section 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, allows the authorities to investigate and prosecute the chief minister.
In the accused scandal, compensatory sites were allegedly allocated to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, in a prestigious Mysuru area, raising questions about the ethics and legality of the allotment process.
