Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai on Saturday criticized the BJP government, labeling it 'anti-reservation' in the wake of an Allahabad High Court order mandating a fresh selection list for teacher recruitment.

Rai accused the BJP of making hollow promises for Dalit and backward class rights while actively working to deprive them of their legitimate claims. The high court's decision to set aside previous selection lists exposes the government's anti-reservation stance, Rai alleged.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya welcomed the court's ruling as a step towards social justice, hailing it as a victory for Dalit and backward class individuals who have long fought for their rights.
