Man Booked for Stalking and Abusing Teenage Girl in Navi Mumbai

A man has been charged in Navi Mumbai for allegedly stalking and verbally abusing a 14-year-old girl, according to police sources on Friday.

The incident took place on Thursday morning when the girl was on her way to school in Rabale for a flag hoisting ceremony. The accused approached her in his car and demanded she enter the vehicle, an official stated.

Upon her refusal, the man verbally abused her, compelling the girl to pick up a stone to defend herself, prompting the accused to flee. The police have filed a case under sections 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official added.
