The Delhi High Court on Friday declined an urgent listing for low-cost airline Spicejet's plea challenging a directive to ground three aircraft engines by today and turn them over to lessors within 15 days.

Spicejet's request for immediate hearing was presented before a bench consisting of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet P S Arora. The bench said it was impossible to schedule the plea within the day and instead set the hearing for August 20.

The single judge's August 14 order mandated Spicejet to ground the engines and allow prior inspection by lessors Team France 01 SAS and Sunbird France 02 SAS.
