The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the charges filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and others in a money laundering investigation linked to alleged irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
In a detailed 13-page order, Justice Sanjeev Kumar criticized the ED for overstepping its authority, stating it is not superior to the CBI nor does it have the jurisdiction to challenge the CBI's investigation findings.
The judge dismissed the complaint, charge sheet, and charges framed by the designated court but asked the ED to argue the money laundering charges in the CBI court. Should the CBI court permit, the ED can pursue a fresh case.
