Germany has issued a European arrest warrant against a Ukrainian diving instructor suspected of being part of the team responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipelines. This information was reported by three German media outlets on Wednesday.
The suspect, last known to have lived in Poland, is believed to have been one of the divers who planted explosive devices on the pipelines in September 2022. The information comes from sources cited by the SZ, Die Zeit newspapers, and the ARD broadcaster.
Meanwhile, the German prosecutor general's office has declined to comment on the report. Despite Germany asking Poland to arrest the man in June, recent reports suggest the suspect has since left Poland. Other individuals, also identified as Ukrainian diving instructors, are being investigated, but no additional arrest warrants have been issued.
