Shri Sandeep Poundrik has officially taken over as Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, beginning his tenure today at Udyog Bhawan. A 1993-batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, Shri Poundrik was welcomed by senior officials of the Ministry upon his arrival.

Before this appointment, Shri Poundrik served as Additional Chief Secretary in the Industries Department of Bihar and held additional responsibilities in various government roles. His previous positions include serving as Advisor in the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs and as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Following his assumption of office, Shri Poundrik conducted a meeting with senior officers of the Ministry to review the current progress and initiatives in the steel sector.
