Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday urged judicial officers to enthusiastically embrace three recently implemented criminal laws, which he described as revolutionary.

These laws, namely the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act on July 1.

Emphasizing the need to shed colonial mindsets, Dhankhar said, ''These laws have been designed for us, by us, and need to be turned into reality by us. Be in mission mode, be passionate about it; people need it.'' Addressing a conference in Jodhpur, he highlighted that the new laws are justice-oriented rather than punitive and urged officers to get thoroughly acquainted with them.
