On the final day of her visit to New Zealand, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Indian community in Auckland during a reception hosted by the High Commission of India. The event was attended by Minister of State Shri George Kurian, and Members of Parliament Shri Saumitra Khan and Shri Jugal Kishore.

In her address to the enthusiastic gathering of Indian community members from across New Zealand, President Murmu praised their significant contributions to the country's development and prosperity. She highlighted their impact across various sectors, including business, education, healthcare, and technology, noting that their dedication and creativity have greatly enriched New Zealand society.

The President commended the Indian community's dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit, emphasizing that these values have been guiding principles for generations and will continue to inspire future progress.

She also expressed satisfaction with the rapid advancement of bilateral relations between India and New Zealand, attributing this progress to the frequent exchanges of high-level visits and delegations. President Murmu acknowledged the inclusive and welcoming attitude of the New Zealand government and its people, which has allowed the Indian community to flourish.

In a significant announcement, President Murmu revealed that India will soon establish a Consulate in Auckland to address a long-standing request from the Indian diaspora in the city. She expressed confidence that the new Consulate would play a crucial role in strengthening diplomatic relations between India and New Zealand.

President Murmu concluded her speech by reiterating that the Indian community worldwide is a vital partner in India's development journey. She underscored that their skills, expertise, and experiences are essential for India's continued progress.
