Russia evacuated residents from its western region of Lipetsk on Friday, following a 'massive attack' by Ukrainian drones that resulted in explosions, power disruptions, and six injuries, according to regional governor Igor Artamonov.

Four villages, some near an air force base, were evacuated after a state of emergency was declared in the Lipetsk municipal district, Artamonov announced on the Telegram messaging app. A fire broke out at the air base outside Lipetsk city, reported Interfax news agency, citing local emergency officials.

In a separate incident, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of the Russian-occupied city of Sevastopol in Crimea, stated on Telegram that Russian forces destroyed three drones and three drone boats near the city. Russia's defense ministry claimed that a total of 75 Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight across regions including Belgorod and Lipetsk, RIA news agency reported. Ukrainian authorities have not confirmed any strikes on the Lipetsk region.
